Minecraft has been rated for Xbox Series X/S
As discovered by VGC journalist Andrew Marmo, Minecraft received a rating for Xbox Series consoles in Germany earlier this month.
Currently, the Xbox One version of the game is playable on Xbox Series X/S through backward compatibility.
One of the potential features that might be supported in an optimized version of the game for Xbox Series consoles is ray tracing, which Microsoft had hinted at even before the platform's launch in 2020.
In March of the previous year, Mojang developers accidentally included prototype code for ray tracing support on Xbox consoles in a preview version available to Xbox Insiders, but it was quickly removed.
"This early prototype code has been removed from the preview version and doesn't indicate any immediate plans to introduce ray tracing support on consoles," the statement read at the time.
Minecraft has been rated for Xbox Series X/S.Microsoft announced on Thursday that it intends to close the Xbox 360 Store next year. The ability to purchase new games, downloadable content (DLC), and other entertainment materials from the Xbox 360 Store will cease on July 29, 2024.
