iPhone 15 Pro Impresses in Gaming Tests, but Struggles with Genshin Impact
The YouTube channel, TheRelaxingEnd, recently conducted gaming tests on the iPhone 15 Pro, evaluating its performance in various popular titles. The smartphone delivered strong results in games like PUBG Mobile, eFootball, GTA San Andreas and Call of Duty Mobile. However, when it came to Genshin Impact, some issues arose.
In their testing, the game was showcased at its highest graphics settings while maintaining a 60 fps frame rate. The Genshin Impact client even issued a warning about potential performance issues on smartphones at these settings, and it turned out to be accurate.
While exploring the game's open world, the iPhone 15 Pro managed to handle Genshin Impact reasonably well. However, the real challenge came during combat encounters, where significant lag was quite noticeable. Activating character abilities and rendering complex visual effects sometimes caused the game to freeze briefly.
An intriguing observation was that even after battles, Genshin Impact continued to experience slowdowns while exploring the open world on the iPhone 15 Pro. Viewers can witness these gameplay performance issues starting at the 12:47 mark in the video.
It's probable that the smartphone's chipset overheated due to the demanding rendering effects at maximum settings, leading to a reduction in performance to maintain a stable operating temperature. This behavior aligns with the standard response of modern processors in situations of overheating.
There's hope that this situation might improve with a specialized version of Genshin Impact optimized for the latest Apple smartphones. However, as of now, the developers have not provided any official announcement regarding its release date.
