Fortnite Revolutionizes Awards: Dive into The Game Awards Vote Map for an Epic Gaming Experience!
The Game Awards has launched an innovative collaboration with Fortnite, introducing The Game Awards Vote map within the popular battle royale game. This unique promotion allows players to actively participate in voting for the best custom island of the year, marking a groundbreaking moment in integrating gaming events into the virtual gaming world. Fortnite, with a track record of 16 TGA nominations and three victories, has been a consistent honoree at The Game Awards since its release in 2017. The latest initiative, The Game Awards Vote in Fortnite, presents a newly introduced custom map enabling players to vote for the best fan-made island of the year. The award, distinct from the main TGA categories, is entirely community-driven, with players accessing the TGA voting island using the Fortnite Creative 2.0 map code 0853-1358-8532.
Developed in collaboration with Studio 568 and Nighttimes Inc., the Fortnite map features a portal to ten nominated islands in the community category. Apart from facilitating voting, the level also incorporates 28 exclusive The Game Awards statues for players to collect, offering additional XP. Notably, Geoff Keighley, the organizer of The Game Awards, is featured on the island as an NPC, adding a unique connection between the gaming event and the Fortnite universe. Fans have already expressed their enthusiasm on social media, suggesting the inclusion of this character in the ever-expanding list of Fortnite skins. Geoff Keighley's hologram welcomes players upon entering the map, providing an explanation of this custom TGA island.
Even before the unveiling of this unique island promo, Fortnite was slated to make an appearance at The Game Awards 2023. The game has been nominated once again in the Best Ongoing Game category for this year's edition, competing with titles like Apex Legends, Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy 14, and Genshin Impact. Fans eager to see Fortnite secure the award can cast their votes on the official TGA website until December 6, 6 PM PT. Community support will contribute to 10% of the game's overall vote, while the remaining 90% will be determined by an international voting jury. This pioneering collaboration sets a precedent for future inventive partnerships, showcasing the potential for dynamic interactions between gaming events and the virtual gaming environment. Fortnite continues to push boundaries with this in-game tie-in, establishing an exciting fusion of gaming events and virtual experiences.
