Ed Boon has revealed that "Mortal Kombat 1" is set to receive a narrative DLC, followed by a 'major surprise'
Ed Boon, the co-creator of Mortal Kombat 1, revealed plans for the future of the franchise at the CCXP23 event in Brazil. He mentioned that similar to Mortal Kombat 11, they are planning to release a sequel with an even more gripping storyline.
"We are preparing a big surprise after this, and we intend to support the game even longer than before. It's going to be exciting," Boon added.
Recently, it was announced that on December 14, the DLC character Kuan Chi will be available for players with early access, followed by a release for everyone on December 21. Additionally, Chameleon will be introduced in January.
Mortal Kombat 1, released on September 19, received mainly positive reviews from critics, with a Metacritic rating of 85 for Xbox Series X/S and 83 for PS5.
"The game looks stunning, has an engaging storyline, the new Invasion mode will captivate solo players, and, most importantly, it's an absolute blast to play," they emphasized. "It's a must-buy for fans, those who haven't played in a while, and newcomers".
