CD Projekt is working on developing a mod editor for the game "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt"
CD Projekt has announced the development of a mod editor for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, exclusively for PC. The tool will enable players to create their own scenarios and modify the game's content. It's expected to be released for free in 2024.
"We're excited to announce our work on a mod editor for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt!" - stated the company.
CD Projekt's CEO, Adam Kiciński, highlighted the success of The Witcher 3, which has sold over 50 million copies since 2015. The company hopes the new editor will breathe fresh life into the game, meeting fans' expectations ahead of the next installment, codenamed Polaris.
CD Projekt also revealed the commencement of development on a new Witcher game in March 2022, promising a new saga for the franchise. This upcoming installment will be built on Epic Games' Unreal Engine, differing from previous versions that utilized the Red Engine.
The progression towards a new Witcher trilogy was confirmed in October, with plans to release all three games within six years after the first one's launch. As per the announcement, over 260 developers are already working on the new game, expecting further reinforcement post the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.
