According to the announcement, a remaster of the game Quake II will be released today

According to the latest details from billbil-kun, who has established a reputation for accurately predicting game announcements and release dates, the game is slated for release today at 10 AM Pacific Time (PT), 1 PM Eastern Time (ET), and 6 PM British Summer Time (BST).

Additionally, reports indicate that the game will carry a price tag of $9.99/ €9.99/ £7.99, although there remains some uncertainty about its official title, whether it will be named "Quake II Remastered" or "Quake II Enhanced" (despite a South Korean rating for a game titled "Quake II Enhanced" spotted by Gematsu back in June).

If the timing of the release is accurate, it will align perfectly with the commencement of QuakeCon 2023, with the inaugural presentation also scheduled for today at the same aforementioned times (PT, ET, BST).

As a result, it seems highly probable that the Quake II remaster will be prominently featured as one of the initial announcements during this opening presentation.

Building on the previously shared information from billbil-kun, the game is expected to be available on multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5 (PS5), PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

This release will stand apart from Quake II RTX, the enhanced version of Quake II featuring ray tracing technology, which Nvidia introduced in 2019.

Following a three-year period dominated by exclusively digital events, QuakeCon 2023 is making a triumphant return to an in-person format. The event will be hosted at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas, spanning from August 10 to 13, encompassing both Thursday and Sunday.

"QuakeCon holds a special place in our hearts as our favorite event of the year. We're eagerly looking forward to reuniting with our incredible QuakeCon community in person, celebrating games, and enjoying a weekend of gaming camaraderie with thousands of friends," expressed Marty Stratton, the head of id Software.

"For our comeback year, QuakeCon 2023 is centered around the fan-favorite event and the players who have consistently made QuakeCon the premier gaming gathering for over 25 years."
