The Grand Theft Auto publisher emphasizes its plans to reach a "record" pivotal moment in its upcoming fiscal year
In its financial report for the first quarter of fiscal year 2024 (ending in March 2024), the publisher announced net bookings of $1.2 billion for this period, which aligned with the upper end of expectations.
(Net bookings encompass the net amount from sales of digital products and services, whether sold digitally or physically, and include not only game sales but also other revenue sources such as licensing fees, merchandise, and in-game advertising.)
The publisher also reaffirmed its previous projection of total net bookings ranging from $5.45 to $5.55 billion throughout fiscal year 2024.
However, looking ahead, the publisher once again highlighted its upcoming fiscal year and emphasized its previous statements that significant events are planned for this period.
"We are confident that we are positioning our business for a significant turning point in fiscal year 2025, which we believe will include new record levels of operational efficiency," stated Take-Two CEO and Chairman Strauss Zelnick.
"We would like to express our gratitude to all stakeholders for their continued support, and we eagerly anticipate the realization of this exciting next chapter."
While official confirmation is still lacking, this recent statement, like previous similar statements, has led to speculation that the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 is planned for fiscal year 2025.
If accurate, this would mean that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released no later than March 2025.
This is not the first time Take-Two has hinted at an anticipated significant sales surge in the upcoming fiscal year.
