Unraveling the Motives of World of Warcraft's Infinite Dragonflight: Chaos and Destruction Across Timelines

The Infinite Dragonflight wreaks havoc across time in World of Warcraft, but their ultimate objectives have remained enigmatic. As players embark on a time-bending journey in "World of Warcraft: Dragonflight", they face off against these corrupted dragons, whose goal is to bring about the end of the world. However, the true implications of their success extend far beyond Azeroth's realms, entailing a host of terrifying consequences.

Originally a noble protectorate known as the Bronze Dragonflight, the members of the Infinite Dragonflight have been driven to madness by the manipulative forces of time. Even their leader, Nozdormu the Infinite, has foreseen timelines where his sanity crumbles, leading to Azeroth's destruction. Though players have thwarted the Infinites before, intercepting their efforts throughout history, only recently have their actual schemes come to light.

Throughout the years, the Infinite Dragons have pursued various objectives. They have targeted crucial events in World of Warcraft's history, attempting to alter the future irreversibly. From the Culling of Stratholme to Thrall's escape from Durnholde, and even Deathwing's defeat, the dragons have sought to twist these pivotal moments, albeit with limited success. The diverse nature of their attacks raises questions about their unified purpose.

Hints suggest that Murozond, Nozdormu's alter ego, and the entire Infinite Dragonflight are influenced by the Old Gods. However, their allegiance to the Void is not always straightforward. Disrupting events from Warcraft III, for instance, would not necessarily secure a victory for the Old Gods but instead serve the goals of the Burning Legion, their mortal foes.

Medivh's prevention from opening the Dark Portal could have stopped the orc invasion of Azeroth, but it would have left the planet vulnerable to a direct Legion invasion. The absence of orcs would have altered the outcome of the Third War in Azeroth's favor. The Infinites' focus on such complex outcomes rather than clearer victories for the Old Gods suggests their madness plays a significant role in their motives.

The madness of the dragons becomes the most plausible explanation for their actions. Despite their cunning and coordination, the Infinites' singular objective is to sow chaos. How the world meets its end appears immaterial to them as they disrupt the natural flow of events by targeting key moments in the timeways. In "World of Warcraft: Dragonflight", their aims seem to have sharpened under the leadership of Chrono-Lord Deios.

Forming an alliance with the Primal Incarnates, particularly Iridikron, the Infinite Dragonflight seeks to cleanse Azeroth of Titan influence using any means necessary, including Void magic. Deios appears to be well-aware of Iridikron's true intentions and willingly assists, as both parties crave widespread chaos and destruction.

Ultimately, players must rally behind the bronze dragon Chromie to foil the schemes of Chrono-Lord Deios and the Infinites. Though they suffer defeat, it remains uncertain if they are vanquished for good. In a reality where infinite timelines exist, the presence of Infinite dragons is an ever-present possibility.
