The games "The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages" and "The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons" are now available on the Switch console
"The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages" and "The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons" are now available on the Nintendo Switch Online platform as part of the Game Boy game library.
Both games were released for the portable console Game Boy Color on the same day in 2001 and were developed by Flagship, a subsidiary of Capcom.
The games feature a top-down perspective, similar to other early titles in "The Legend of Zelda" series like "A Link to the Past" and "Link's Awakening," and have completely separate storylines but with a unified ending.
"Oracle of Ages" takes place in the land of Labrynna, where Link battles Veran, the evil Sorceress of Shadows.
"Oracle of Seasons," on the other hand, unfolds in another world called Holodrum, where Link attempts to rescue the Oracle of Seasons, Din, from the ruthless General Onox.
When a player completes one of the games, they receive a password that can be used in the other game. This allows them to continue the story in the second game (instead of separate adventures) and unlocks an additional dungeon at the end, where players can witness the true ending.
The addition of both games increases the total number of Game Boy and Game Boy Color games available on the service to 15. The full list is as follows:
- Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare (GBC)
- Blaster Master: Enemy Below (GBC)
- BurgerTime Deluxe (GB)
- Game & Watch Gallery 3 (GBC)
- Gargoyle’s Quest (GB)
