Pokémon establishes official forum with the intention of providing fans a platform for communication
The official Pokémon forum, designed for discussing Pokémon video games, anime, and the trading card game, has experienced numerous instances of unwanted spam and inappropriate content.
It appears that the forum, largely migrated from the Pokémon TradingCard Game online forums, is not being adequately moderated to address the unsuitable content being posted.
Players are required to have a Pokémon.com trainer account in order to post on the forum.
Images featuring questionable topics quickly surfaced on Twitter, raising concerns from users about how such suggestive themes as "tickle tormenting" and attraction to specific Pokémon were able to remain visible for extended periods, attracting multiple replies and hundreds of views.
The official forum rules encourage players to contribute positively to the community and foster an inviting, enjoyable, and safe environment.
The rules explicitly state that no offensive language or inappropriate topics are allowed. "Pokémon is for everyone! We want to ensure that everyone feels welcome, which means keeping the content clean, inclusive, and suitable for all ages."
Later this year, Pokémon is planning to release its first expansion for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
