Street Fighter 6 has broken the record for peak online players in the fighting genre on the Steam platform
Street Fighter 6 has set a new record for peak online player count among all fighting games on the Steam platform in just a few hours.
The maximum number of players simultaneously playing the new game has nearly reached 66,000, which significantly surpasses the figures of Street Fighter V, which never exceeded 15,000 players. Street Fighter 6 has also surpassed the previous record holder in the fighting genre on Steam, Dragon Ball FighterZ, which had a peak player count of over 44,000.
Among other successful fighting games on the Steam platform, it is worth mentioning Mortal Kombat 11, where the peak player count exceeded 35,000.
However, the absolute leader with a significant margin from all these games is MultiVersus, where over 153,000 players are simultaneously playing. It is important to note that this project is a free-to-play fighting game, so comparing it to "paid" games would be unfair.
Street Fighter 6 is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms, and both critics and players have expressed their satisfaction with the game. Currently, the game has an approval rating of 84% on Steam, although the total number of reviews has not yet exceeded 800.
