The mastermind behind Sonic the Hedgehog has been convicted and sentenced to imprisonment for participating in insider trading
The portal Denfanminicogamer.jp reported on the arrest of Yuji Naka, the creator of the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
The developer has been sentenced to prison for insider trading. Naka purchased stocks of gaming companies that were preparing to announce new games and then resold them at significant profits. In addition to the prison term, the game designer was fined 2.5 million and 170 million yen for insider trading.
