Epic Games has announced the addition of Brazilian studio Aquiris to create innovative content for Fortnite

Today we are pleased to announce that the Brazilian game development studio AQUIRIS has joined Epic Games, continuing the investment strategy started earlier in 2022.

The AQUIRIS team will become a key part of Epic Games Brasil, Epic's first studio in Latin America. Founded in 2007, AQUIRIS is known for its award-winning games, such as Wonderbox and the Horizon Chase franchise. The development team from Porto Alegre joined Epic Games to create innovative content and provide social gaming experiences within Fortnite.

"We will continue to support our acclaimed games, including Wonderbox, Horizon Chase 2, and Looney Tunes World of Mayhem. Joining Epic Games will allow us to use our experience working with Unreal Engine in game development and contribute to the future of Fortnite," said Mauricio Longoni, CEO of AQUIRIS and new studio director of Epic Games Brasil. "AQUIRIS has always been at the forefront of game development in Brazil and Latin America, and joining Epic Games will draw attention to developers in our region from the entire industry."

"We have personally seen the impressive talent of the AQUIRIS team in creating innovative games with global value, and we look forward to the opportunity to welcome them to Epic Games," said Alain Tascan, Executive Vice President of Game Development at Epic Games. "By creating Epic Games Brasil, we hope to leverage the immense talent present in the region and strengthen our presence in Latin America."
