Rumor: Netflix may start an advertising partnership with Microsoft
Analysts say streaming giant Netflix is looking at ways to add ads to its cheapest subscription option. To do this, the company is considering the option of cooperation with the information giant Microsoft.
There is also an opinion that such moves are part of the upcoming merger with Microsoft. There are a number of explanations for this. First, Reed Hastings, co-CEO of Netflix, served on the board of directors of Bill Gates' company from 2007 to 2012.
Secondly, the streaming platform may and would like to be sold to someone bigger like Google, but such a deal may not be approved by regulators, as many countries are already unhappy with Google's monopoly position.
Microsoft itself is currently busy acquiring Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion, so Netflix could be the next company to be acquired by the creators of Xbox and Windows.
