Fortnite can no longer be downloaded in China
Fortnite can no longer be downloaded in China. Riot Games has restricted access for new players by banning downloads and registration of new accounts. Fortnite's final withdrawal from the Chinese region is expected on November 15, when the developers will shut down the servers.
Fortnite cannot be downloaded as of November 1. In addition, Riot Games has banned new player registrations. Earlier it was reported that from November 15, all servers will be shut down. The reasons for this decision were not disclosed, but they are most likely related to Chinese legislation restricting violence in games popular with young people.
In addition, the regional version of Fortnite is very different from the global version due to the strict requirements of the Chinese authorities for video games. For example, Fortnite China has no microtransactions or loot boxes, and matches only last 20 minutes - all players whose characters survive to the end of the round become the winners. As a reminder, a separate version of Fortnite for China was released in 2018.
There is no way to roll back the Fortnite shutdown in China, as Epic Games is doing so under the pressure of fierce anti-gaming laws in China. At the same time, the official message from Epic Games indicates that the Chinese version of the game was in the testing stage.
