Fortnite servers in China to be shut down on November 15
Fortnite servers will be shut down in China on November 15. The game did not find polarity in the country and therefore Epic Games is suspending the game in the PRC.
Registration for new users will close on November 1. On the same date, the portal for downloading the game will be closed.
Epic Games' decision to shut down servers is not unfounded. The point is in the laws of the PRC, which are distinguished by their strictness in relation to video games.
Teenagers in China are prohibited from spending more than 1.5 hours a day playing computer games, loot boxes are prohibited in the country, and a battle pass to the PRC was completely free. In addition, in China, Fortnite had a lot of game features: instead of real characters, there were holograms, and the victory in the match was awarded to the player with the most points, and not to the last survivor, which already contradicts the very concept of the battle royale.
