EA FC 25’s New Low Driven Shot PlayStyle Has Potential—But One Major Drawback

The Low Driven Shot is an exciting new PlayStyle introduced in EA FC 25, but a critical flaw prevents it from becoming one of the game’s top shooting options.

How PlayStyles Work in EA FC 25

PlayStyles enhance a specific action on the pitch, while PlayStyle+ takes those abilities to a world-class level. For instance, a player with Finesse Shot+ executes finesse shots significantly faster, with maximum curve and exceptional accuracy. Meanwhile, a standard Finesse Shot PlayStyle still improves finesse shots but to a lesser degree.

At launch, EA FC 25 featured five shooting PlayStyles: Power Shot, Dead Ball, Chip Shot, Finesse Shot, and Power Header. However, Title Update 10 (released on March 10) introduced the Low Driven Shot as a new scoring PlayStyle. But does it outperform the existing options?

Does Low Driven Shot Compete with Finesse & Power Shot?

The Low Driven Shot PlayStyle improves accuracy, increases ball speed, and speeds up the shooting animation. The PlayStyle+ version enhances these aspects even further.

Even without a dedicated PlayStyle, Low Driven Shots are already effective inside and outside the box. Goalkeepers struggle to react quickly and dive low, making these shots difficult to stop.

However, this leads to the PlayStyle’s biggest flaw. To test it, I used FUT Birthday Gary Lineker ICON with Low Driven Shot+ in Division Rivals and FUT Champs. While I did score plenty of Low Driven shots, I also noticed that FUT Birthday Marco van Basten, my strike partner, scored just as many—despite not having the PlayStyle at all.

The difference was noticeable but not significant enough to justify using Low Driven Shot over other PlayStyles, especially given EA FC 25’s PlayStyle limitations.

Why Other PlayStyles Are a Better Choice

Players can have unlimited normal PlayStyles, but they are limited to a maximum of two PlayStyle+ abilities (unless it’s a TOTY card). This makes choosing the most impactful PlayStyle+ crucial.

If Low Driven Shots were weaker without the PlayStyle or if the buff provided a greater advantage, it could be worth prioritizing. However, as it stands, other options are far more valuable.

For a striker, Power Shot+ and Finesse Shot+ offer clear improvements over their base versions, making them more desirable than Low Driven Shot. Combining a scoring PlayStyle with a dribbling enhancement also provides a greater competitive edge.

Final Verdict: Low Driven Needs a Buff

With a stronger buff, Low Driven Shot could become one of the best PlayStyles in EA FC 25. However, in its current state, the difference between players with and without the ability is too minor to justify using it over other options.

For now, seek attackers with PlayStyles that provide a more noticeable advantage in scoring
