Riot Games appoints Erin Wayne as Global Head of Gamers Community
Riot Games has announced the appointment of Erin Wayne to lead the global gaming community. In his role, Wayne will be responsible for Riot Games' interaction with professional gamers. The powers include direct public, social and editorial interactions.
Wayne will be instrumental in the company's efforts to "develop the art of interaction" in new directions, according to a press release.
Jason Bunge, CEO of Riot Games:“Now that Riot Games is expanding from one game to a whole set of disciplines, engaging with the community will be more important and more challenging than ever. We needed someone who understood and thrived in such an environment, and Erin was a natural choice. She herself has been an influence over the years and is leading the field in her efforts to bridge the gap between the community and the developers. "
Wayne joins Riot Games with Twitch, where she served as Senior Director of Community Marketing and Content Creators. Wayne has worked in a variety of roles during her seven years on the streaming platform.
Note that earlier Riot Games appointed Mark Sottosanti as its CFO. Sottosanti was previously the company's senior vice president of corporate strategy and development.
