Call of Duty League returns to LAN format
The Call of Duty League management decided to return to the LAN format of the championships. Representatives of the CDL confirmed this on official Twitter. Note that the first LAN tournament will be the Call of Duty League 2021: Stage 4 Major, which will take place from June 14 to June 20 at the Esports Stadium Arlington. It should be added that the Dallas Empire team will help in organizing the event.
Joanna Faris, Call of Duty General Manager of Activision Blizzard, spoke about the changes: “As you can imagine, we have been patiently waiting for this moment to return to the old LAN format. The fact that all 12 teams will be able to play under one roof again is simple amazing. "
Recall that last year the Call of Duty League went online completely due to the situation with the coronavirus pandemic. However, now, like many other creators and organizers such as Riot Games and the Overwatch League, the Call of Duty League has begun the process of returning to the old championship format.
The league's management also announced that during Call of Duty League 2021: Stage 4 Major, only teams and staff will have access to the site. All participants will be tested for COVID-19 and will also adhere to strict safety protocols.
