Activision Blizzard Expands Media Rights Deal With SPORT1

Activision Blizzard has expanded its distribution rights with German broadcaster SPORT1. The multi-year agreement extends the broadcaster's exclusive television rights to the Overwatch League in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In addition, the broadcaster also acquired the rights to broadcast the Hearthstone Masters Tour and Hearthstone Grandmasters, World of Warcraft Arena World Championship and Mythic Dungeon International live on eSPORTS1 and eSportsONE.

This announcement follows from the conclusion of an initial two-year agreement, signed in conjunction with the launch of the esports channel SPORTS1 in German-speaking regions in 2019.

Note that by the end of 2020, SPORT1 launched its second pan-European esports channel eSportsONE, which currently broadcasts in Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Norway and Sweden. We add that SPORT1 TV company also cooperates with ESL, NBA 2K League and Psyonix.
