E-Flix terminates licensing contract with Cruzeiro eSports
Brazilian esports organization E-Flix eSports has announced the termination of its licensing agreement with one of Brazil's premier football clubs, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube.
Note that Cruzeiro eSports is currently playing in such disciplines as the Brazilian League Of Legends Championship (CBLOL) and Free Fire League (LBFF).
Following the announcement from E-Flix, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube issued a termination statement saying the organization was surprised by the news.
Despite the fact that FC Cruzeiro has performed well in Brazil, the team is playing in the second division of Brazilian football for the second year and is reportedly suffering from a deep financial crisis. The club has stated that it is taking legal action in connection with the termination of the contract and that it will continue to engage in esports activities.
The franchise seats for LBFF and CBLOL are owned by E-Flix, with Cruzeiro being assigned only image rights for both teams. Riot Games Brazil released a statement on the CBLOL franchise in which the publisher admitted that E-Flix had been transparent with Riot to terminate the contract.
