University of Kentucky and Gen.G to Host Tournament Series
The University of Kentucky (UK) has teamed up with esports organization Gen.G to host a series of championships with other universities.
The University of Kentucky Esports Invitational will feature nine universities participating in the League of Legends, Rocket League and VALORANT tournaments.
From March 12-14, student casters will be commenting on tournaments that will be streamed on the University of Kentucky Twitch channel.
In addition to streaming on Twitch, each of the three tournaments will offer a $ 1,000 prize pool to be awarded to the winning teams.
The UK and Gen.G have worked together since the two parties entered into a partnership in October 2019. The deal allowed the organization to build a gaming and esports program to open up a variety of internship and career opportunities for students.
