ESL Gaming expands media rights partnership with Telia
Tournament operator and production company ESL Gaming has expanded its partnership with Scandinavian telecommunications firm Telia, making Telia Finland the exclusive Finnish-language media partner of ESL Pro Tour for CS: GO. The deal was concluded for the period from January 2021 to IEM Katowice 2023.
The deal is a renewal of a previous contract with Telia Finland, in which the telecommunications company became ESL Pro Tour's Finnish media partner last year.
As a media partner, Telia will acquire the rights to broadcast ESL Pro Tour tournaments on various channels, including Finnish MTV, C More and Telia TV, as well as Telia's Twitch channel.
In addition to CS: GO, Telia has also announced plans to broadcast selected ESL Pro Tour events on StarCraft II to provide a localized version for its Finnish audience.
The announcement of the expansion of Telia's partnership comes after ESL and DreamHack announced the resumption of the ESL Pro Tour in CS: GO for 2021.
This year's ESL Pro Tour will feature at least 16 teams, with all eight ESL Pro Tour Masters and Masters Championships running over two consecutive weeks.
