Esports firm Nerd Street Gamers raised $ 11.5 million in additional funding, with venture capital firm Founders Fund spearheading the funding round.
According to the press release, the additional funds will be used to accelerate the company's growth.
Despite the closure of venues due to the coronavirus pandemic, Nerd Street Gamers continued to grow thanks to the firm's digital offerings, which ranged from Nerd Street +, a subscription service, to a number of online tournaments.
This funding round began after the company raised $ 12 million in its first round of funding in October 2019. Since then, Nerd Street Gamers has partnered with companies such as Riot Games and continues to open stadiums in Austin, Texas, Philadelphia and St. Louis.
