HyperX will sponsor an esports program
HyperX has announced that it will become a peripheral sponsor of the Orange County School of Arts (OCSA) and its new esports program. In exchange for support, the School's Technology Lab will change its name to HyperX Digital Media and Performance Lab.
OCSA is in the process of modernizing and building a 36-station gaming center for both OCSA esports teams and other integrated learning activities, with the goal of serving 400 students every year. The laboratory will be available to all students and integrated into the OCSA Digital Media Conservatory.
In addition to providing peripherals, the partnership will enable HyperX and OCSA to provide virtual assistance to students looking to learn about gaming and technology careers. HyperX will also be hosting gaming and eSports discussions with students.
OCSA hopes that this partnership will have a positive impact on expanding eSports Club School, which is part of the North American Federation of scholastic eSports (NASEF). Seventy-five percent of students at OCSA's Digital Media Conservatory are women, OCSA notes, with gender equality and representation being an important part of the planned use of its gaming lab.
