Huya enters into agreement with Relog Media and HomeSweetHome
Chinese live streaming platform Huya has announced an exclusive partnership with Serbian production firm Relog Media. As part of the agreement, Huya plans to broadcast HomeSweetHome CS: GO tournaments.
As a result of this partnership, Huya acquired the exclusive regional broadcasting, VOD and distribution rights for HomeSweetHome in China.
HomeSweetHome will host a series of CS: GO championships over the course of a calendar year, with Huya's exclusive rights extended to at least 3,000 hours of broadcast content, according to a press release.
The partnership between the two parties was established through the GRID Esports information platform.
Huya is no stranger to the esports industry as the platform constantly streams various competitive gaming events. In the third quarter of last year, the platform aired a total of 119 third-party esports events, ranging from the League of Legends World Championship to the Honor of Kings World Champions Cup.
At the end of last year, it became known that Relog had acquired a license to host HomeSweetHome from GRID Esports. As part of the deal, the production company sought to expand the series by hosting Seasonal Cups, and also announced its intention to launch the series in Dota 2.
Following the licensing deal, HomeSweetHome unveiled its first tournament, SnowSweetSnow Cup 1, and signed a number of agreements with teams. The series partners included such teams as Virtus.pro, forZe, Gambit, Sprout, etc.
