Microsoft shut down Mixer
The main reason for the closure of Mixer was the collaboration of Microsoft and Facebook and a new project called Facebook Gaming. Ninja and Shroud, who entered into a contract with Bill Gates, received cash compensation of $ 30,000,000 and $ 10,000,000, respectively, and are now thinking about their future plans. They refused to switch to Facebook Gaming, although they could get the status of a partner with the arrival of this streaming service.
After Mixer closes, Xbox One users will not be able to stream from the consoles. Such an opportunity is planned in the future as an integration of the Project xCloud cloud service.
Microsoft launched Mixer in January 2016 and positioned the project as a direct competitor to TwitchTV. Over time, it became clear that they could not withstand the competition, although the company was silent about the reasons for closing Mixer. Now Microsoft has taken a step towards collaboration with Facebook.
