John Needham, President of Esports at Riot Games: "Riot Games has a long-term vision to bring joy to billions of fans around the world through our esports offering, and we are thrilled to be partnering with AWS. AWS' end-to-end solutions and experience will enhance Riot Games' esports streaming and engage fans." eSports around the world. From reimagining how fans experience our events and content, to interacting with other gamers, AWS opens up endless possibilities for Riot Games to shape the future of sports."

Riot Games is already using Amazon Web Services offerings in their games. In addition, the parties are working to improve their streaming of global esports events throughout each competitive season for LoL Esports, VALORANT Champions Tour, and Wild Rift Esports. As with the detailed statistics provided to the world's major sports leagues, Riot Games will leverage the service's wide range of cloud capabilities to provide new options for fans:

  • World's first AWS esports statistics.
  • AWS Global Power Rankings.
  • Pick'em powered by AWS.

Matt Garman, SVP of Sales, Marketing and Global Services at Amazon Web Services: "Our collaboration with Riot Games is changing the entire esports landscape. Spectators and teams can now see in real time how different series, weapons and abilities can define who will be the champion, similar to the statistics used in other sports broadcasts."

It is expected that the first fruits of cooperation between Amazon Web Services and Riot Games can be tracked in the fall at a joint hackathon.
