Kaya Mathey Becomes NYXL Chief Revenue Officer
New York-based North American esports organization NYXL has announced the appointment of Kai Mathey to the position of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). In her new role, Mathey is expected to be responsible for revenue growth and commercial alignment across the organization, including creative and consumer products.
Mathey joined NYXL in 2018 as head of partnerships where she closed deals with companies such as United Airlines and esports company Adamas Esports. Prior to joining the company, she was the COO of food tasting platform Table.
Kaya Mathy, Newly Appointed Chief Revenue Officer at NYXL: "This is an exciting time for esports and New York. Not only are we expanding our business and audience, we are also developing content and creative opportunities that are attractive to brands that align with their growth strategies, like hosting New York's first ever Call of Duty League tournament in Brooklyn in July. I'm thrilled to be working with James, Farzam and the entire NYXL team as we look to the future."
Maty will reportedly oversee all of the club's marketing and public relations for its squads.
The appointment follows the organization's rebranding from Andbox to NYXL in March in an effort to better align its brand with New York and build the city into the esports capital of the world. In May, the North American organization also struck a deal with esports agency SPORTFIVE to support the growth of its esports and gaming vertical.
