Riot Games and Bayes Esports Expand Data Partnership
Riot Games has extended its partnership with esports firm Bayes Esports until 2024. As a result of the expansion of the deal, Bayes Esports will continue to act as the publisher's exclusive distribution partner for virtually all League of Legends championships. This includes live data, gadget data and audiovisual rights for betting.
As a reminder, Riot Games first teamed up with Bayes Esports in 2019. According to the press release, the organizations previously invested in solutions to address the needs of teams and players as part of the partnership. Throughout the collaboration, Bayes Esports helped develop the Riot Games team data portal and expand its data services for regional leagues.
John Knauss, Technical Product Manager at Riot Games: “Our partnership was initially focused on distributing and commercializing data to third parties. But through great conversations with Bayes Esports, the community and teams, we learned that together we can achieve much more to support the continued growth and success of the League of Legends esports business. "
The extension, which was reportedly activated early on, is intended to ensure that League of Legends data is still available to the industry.
Note that Bayes Esports is also collaborating with the organizers of ESL and Beyond The Summit.
