British esports organization Guild Esports appoints Edgar Checkeru, formerly of City Football Group, as their first Performance Manager.

In her new role, Checker will work with Guild Esports players in a variety of fields, including individual work in sports psychology.

Checkera is an experienced professional with nearly ten years of experience in the field of sports psychology. He has worked in a number of well-known organizations associated with the industry of e-sports, including Fnatic, EXCEL and Hashtag United. Most recently, Checker was a mental trainer for City Football Group.

Checker is currently a visiting lecturer at the City University of Birmingham, the University of Chichester and the University of Winchester.

Along with working with the Mental Training team's players, Checkera will also lead the organization's contract department to promote physical therapy, strength and conditioning, nutrition, and mental well-being. According to the press release, Checkera's work is expected to influence the philosophy of the entire organization.
