This statement came in the context of a broader discussion about "slop" (low-quality content) on the X platform, where ZachXBT called for tools to block content by country.

Details of ZachXBT's Criticism

In his post on X from December 8, 2025, ZachXBT stated:

"Inf0Fi projects like Kait0 Y@ps, G@lxe, L@yer3, Cook1e, W@llchain have done so much damage incentivizing AI bot networks. We need to at least have the option to hide accounts/posts by countries."

He used censored names for the projects, likely to avoid automatic mentions, but the message is clear: these platforms encourage bots to create inorganic content, spoiling the user experience.

This isn't ZachXBT's first criticism. Back in October 2025, he wrote: "Rip Kaito, Wallchain, Cookie, Galxe, Layer 3 users," implying that users of these platforms are falling victim to bot farming. In October of the same year, he suggested creating a service for mass-blocking users from these projects: "These platforms are the main culprits of AI-generated slop in feeds, posts, and replies." According to him, such campaigns don't create organic engagement but only bots that provide no long-term value.

Our own research shows that the "slop" problem on X has become widespread. Based on web searches, similar complaints are coming from many users in the crypto community. For example, posts about this are gaining thousands of views, and articles on sites like CoinTurk and MSN describe how InfoFi projects reward users (or bots) for spreading information, leading to spam.

What is InfoFi and Why Are These Projects Under Fire?

InfoFi is a relatively new term in crypto, combining "information" and "finance." These projects typically reward users with tokens or points for sharing data, quests, or content related to DeFi, AI, and Web3. Here's a brief overview of the mentioned platforms based on our research:

Kaito

Kaito is an AI-powered Web3 search engine designed to combat information fragmentation in crypto by aggregating and analyzing data from thousands of sources like social media (e.g., X), forums, news, and on-chain metrics. In terms of rewards, Kaito's "Yap-to-Earn" system allows users to earn Yap points by posting high-quality crypto-related content on X, which can be tokenized as attention assets - essentially rewarding influential "Yappers" for contributions. This ties directly into InfoFi by monetizing user-generated information and attention. However, critics like ZachXBT claim it attracts bot networks for point farming, leading to AI-generated spam that clutters feeds and undermines organic discourse.

Yaps

Users earn "Quacks" points through organic posting on X, staking for yields, and participating in campaigns without altering their natural style - aiming to eliminate bots and gaming.
