The organizers of DreamHack Masters Malmö 2017 hold a toss-up to seed the participants of the championship into 4 groups. The group stage will take place on August 30 till September 1 in GSL format, and two best teams of each group will go to play-off.

The tournament is scheduled for August 30 – September 2. 16 teams from different parts of the world will compete for the prize pool of в $250,000. It should be noticed, that initially OpTic Gaming should have participated in the event, however, they were replaced by Cloud9 because of the radical change of the roster.
