Heroic breaks contract with HUNDEN
Danish esports organization Heroic has announced its separation from HUNDEN. Information about this appeared on the official website of the organization. Note that yesterday there was news that the Danish specialist intends to leave the team at the end of the contract. It is reported that the main reason for the separation was the scandal associated with the transfer of strategies to competitors.
Heroic has highlighted a number of nuances that they would like to clarify to their fans:
- Before IEM Cologne 2021, the team made a common decision to go to the tournament without HUNDEN due to serious trust issues.
- HUNDEN then blocked team members from accessing the strategies folder.
- The specialist shared this confidential information with one of the key employees of a major competitor.
- The organization considered this action unlawful and in violation of contractual obligations.
- The trial continues in Denmark. The two courts independently found sufficient evidence to collect evidence.
- This issue has been reported to ESL and ESIC.
- The contract with HUNDEN was terminated unilaterally.
As for ESIC, the Esports Integrity Commission has already released a statement confirming that it is currently investigating allegations that a former HUNDEN coach shared confidential information with a competitor ahead of IEM Cologne 2021 without the knowledge of his team.
As a reminder, HUNDEN has been part of Heroic for over a year, joining the team in early 2020 as a replacement for LOMME. As a coach for the team - and an analyst during the period when he was banned by ESIC for using an infamous coaching bug - he helped Heroic reach new heights as the Danish team quickly went on to win trophies, winning ESL One Cologne and DreamHack Open Fall in 2020 and ESL Pro League Season 13 in 2021.
