Valve Unveils Massive CS2 Workshop Update With New Licensing Rewards and Creator Tools

Valve has unveiled a substantial update to the Counter-Strike 2 Workshop as of December 6, 2025, expanding the possibilities for creators to see their work officially integrated into the game.

New Licensing Options for Workshop Creators

As part of the update, Valve is introducing additional optional terms for skin makers and other workshop contributors. By agreeing to these conditions, creators can have their items officially licensed for CS2 in exchange for a one-time fixed payment:

• Weapon skin — $35,000
• Sticker — $6,000
• Charm — $6,000

After accepting the terms, all items linked to the creator’s account may be distributed in parts of the game where user-generated content was previously not supported — most notably, The Armory.

Call to Arms-ory: New Creative Themes

Valve also launched a new creative challenge, encouraging artists to submit skins and stickers based on specific design themes.

• Spy/Tech aesthetic

Sticker Themes

• Motorsport
• Fruits & vegetables

Creators can submit entries through the newly updated CS2 Workshop Tool. Those who already have suitable items published must resubmit them with proper tagging to be considered.

Fresh Additions: New Charm & Enhanced Paint Kit

Alongside the workshop changes, Valve introduced two new creative tools:

• A Dr. Boom charm, featuring recolorable options and eligible for upcoming community collections.
• A new paint style, Custom Paint Job Extended, offering iridescent effects and expanded customization options for crafting unique weapon finishes.
