Metizport Signs Plopski to Strengthen Lineup and Aim for LAN Success
Metizport has announced the signing of Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora, filling the vacancy in the team's starting lineup left by the benching of Tim "susp" Ångström nearly two weeks ago.
Plopski is no stranger to the Metizport banner and its members, having previously acted as a stand-in for the Swedish side at three separate events, as well as having played with Erik "ztr" Gustafsson on Ninjas in Pyjamas. Plopski's first outing with the team was at the Global Esports Tour Rio, where he filled in for Linus "nilo" Bergman due to academic obligations.
Although Metizport ultimately bowed out of Rio in last place after losses to Imperial and FURIA, Plopski was called back into action following susp's move to the bench. With Plopski, Metizport finished the CC2 Season 2 Europe Series 2 in 5th-8th place and secured a playoff spot in the ongoing RES Regional Series 4 Europe.
Metizport has been performing well at the tier-two level throughout 2024, garnering significant attention with a runner-up finish in the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown. During this tournament, ztr's team bested Falcons and Monte, even taking a map off Spirit.
Despite their online success, Metizport has struggled to secure additional LAN appearances in 2024, falling short in several closed qualifiers. With the addition of Plopski, the team aims to overcome these challenges and secure more LAN appearances in the future.
