Cache for CS 2 Unveiled: FMPONE's Stunning Remake Ignites Excitement Among Pros and Streamers!
Renowned level designer Shawn "FMPONE" Snelling has unveiled the initial glimpses of Cache for CS 2, showcasing the map's mid area from two distinct perspectives. The exclusive screenshots were shared on X, providing a sneak peek into the revamped terrain.
Staying true to its roots, the theme persists as a post-Soviet dilapidated industrial zone set in Chornobyl. The central structure now boasts a brick façade, adorned with imposing statues overlooking the mid area. Notably, FMPONE opted to retain the additional window on the CT-side entrance, evident from the crack above it.
The revamped aesthetics received widespread acclaim, earning praise from notable figures such as streamer ohnePixel, FaZe players ropz and broky, as well as Heroic, among others. This marks the fourth iteration of Cache in the Counter-Strike series.
While the original was crafted for CS: Source, the CS:GO version gained prominence as part of the official map pool from 2014 to 2019. FMPONE subsequently released a remake, although it didn't secure a spot in the official map pool.
