The former coach of Team Liquid revealed the reasons behind Patsi's departure from the team
Former Team Liquid coach Damian "daps" Steele shared details about forming the European roster in 2023. He noted that the main issue with Robert "Patsi" Isyanov was his insufficient command of the English language.
Originally, KSCERATO and flameZ were planned to be part of the lineup. When those transfers fell through, we considered keeping EliGE, but not all the players wanted to continue playing with him. I think EliGE might have felt similarly.
I remember discussing this with him, and he even suggested completely changing his role to play as a support player, but I advised him that it wouldn't be the best option for his gameplay. He hadn't done that before, and it didn't align with his style. I told him, "I believe it would be better for your career to find another team."
We explored various alternatives. <...> YEKINDAR and I reviewed gameplay demos of around 30-40 players. <...> Patsi replaced EliGE. It was challenging to find a suitable replacement because at that time, the cost for a good player reached a million dollars. We couldn't afford that, so we chose Patsi. He was a good player and had performed decently in Spirit. At that time, he was 19 years old and had already reached the top 8 in majors twice. <...>
The main issue was that we made too many changes at once. It's not that the replacements were bad; there were just too many of them. <...> We hoped that Patsi could fill the second role as a fragger, but the language barrier was very noticeable. He found it quite challenging to communicate in English.

Patsi played for Team Liquid from June to November 2023. He participated in five tournaments, but the team didn't achieve success in any of them. Currently, he is a free agent in esports.
