Dev1ce shared the reasons behind his departure from CS and his return to the game
Danish CS2 esports player Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz has opened up about his decision to leave Astralis and his subsequent return after a break. In the documentary film "Behind The Stars," he revealed the reasons for his departure from the organization, which emerged in 2021 after being a part of its creation in 2016.
"I left Astralis thinking that joining NiP was the right choice. However, events in my life isolated me almost entirely in Sweden. It was a tumultuous period that led me to take a pause to understand who I am and what I want. After a year's break, I decided to return to Astralis," mentioned Reedtz.
The first tournament after his hiatus was a challenge for the esports athlete: "My body needed to adjust. There was a lot of stress, insomnia. I was anxious, thinking about the future. But the worst thing that could have happened was to revert to the old pattern and quit due to stress, losing interest in Counter-Strike."
Earlier, Reedtz openly discussed the challenges he faced in Sweden, including his girlfriend's infidelity with a close friend, which significantly impacted his emotional state and relationships.
Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz continues to share his experiences, hoping to assist other professional players in coping with challenges in the esports industry.
