CS 2 Performance Showdown: Dataminer TourCS Unveils Surprising FPS Discrepancies on Windows 10 vs. Windows 11
Dataminer TourCS conducted a performance comparison of CS 2 on the two most recent Windows versions, yielding unexpectedly divergent results with an almost 4.9% difference in FPS.
The study involved both Windows 10 and Windows 11. The older operating system maintained an average of 373 frames per second, while its successor achieved 391 frames per second. These measurements were taken on a single computer with consistent graphic settings.
TourCS cautioned that individual system variations might impact results. The investigation utilized a PC with the following specifications:
- Processor: i5-12400F
- Graphics card: GTX 1660 Ti
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
Earlier findings had disclosed that minimizing the game using Alt+Tab had an impact on CS 2 performance, leading to a threefold increase in stuttering, a concern particularly noteworthy for less powerful PCs.
