AZR and Gratisfaction to Help Encore Close Qualifier for IEM Road to Rio 2022 Asia
Australian pro team Encore has announced that AZR and Gratisfaction will help the team in the upcoming closed qualifier for IEM Road to Rio 2022 for Asia. Experienced esportsmen should help the team get to the regional RMR tournament.
We are happy to announce AZR and Gratisfaction as our legendary stand-ins for the IEM Road to Rio 2022 closed qualifiers on the way to Rio!
AZR and Gratisfaction made a name for themselves with the Renegades and then built on their success with 100 Thieves. However, last season the Australians tried their hand at EXTREMUM, failing to gain a foothold at least on the TIER-2 stage, getting into the TOP-3 following the results of Winstrike CIS Cup Spring 2021 and cs_summit 8.
While AZR remained loyal to CS after the collapse of the last club, Gratisfaction tried to find himself in VALORANT, but did not manage to find a full-fledged team.
As for Encore, apoc and Liki will not help the team in the upcoming closed qualifier. Recall that the Australians played together over the past year, during which time they managed to win ESEA Season 38: Premier Division - Australia, ESL ANZ Champs Season 13, LPL Pro League 2021 Season 3 and ESEA Season 39: Premier Division - Australia.
At the same time, it is known that apoc will become the new coach of the Australian team, which has been left without a specialist for the past five months after HudzM left his post.
The Oceania Closed Qualifier for IEM Road to Rio 2022 for Asia will take place online from 27 to 28 August. As part of the championship, four teams from Australia will compete for one ticket to the RMR tournament.
Encore's roster for the IEM Road to Rio 2022 Closed Qualifier for Asia is as follows:
- HaZR
- sterling
- SaVage
- AZR
- Gratisfaction
- apoc (coach)
