ESEA completes investigation into coaching bug abuse on its platform
The ESEA tournament platform has completed an investigation into the abuse of a coaching bug on its platform. It is reported that further investigation and sanctions will be adjusted in accordance with the recommendation of the ESIC.
The investigation of a recent spectator mode bug on our platform has been completed. We have programmatically reviewed all available match records since the problem was discovered. We have suspended accounts that abused the bug and have turned over the relevant evidence of each incident to the Esports Integrity Commission. We are ready to adjust the duration of bans in accordance with the ESIC recommendation.
Representatives of the site noted that they intend to wait for the verdict of the commissioners from ESIC in order to properly punish those caught using the error - that is, to extend the terms of bans or, conversely, reduce them.
ESEA did not provide a list of blocked users. However, in the corresponding section on the official website, seven new names appeared at once, suspended for 730 days.
Recall that in early May, the ESEA tournament platform, owned by the ESL operator, decided to suspend coaches found using a new camera bug for two years. The corresponding statement appeared on the official website of the platform.
During ESEA Cash Cup: Europe - Spring 2022 #4, some players suspected the coaches of opposing teams of using a bug that allows them to move around the map. At the beginning of the game, the specialists rejoined the server, thereby activating the bug. They could fly freely around the map, viewing the location of rivals. The reason for the investigation was the match between the teams 1shot and BIT eSports. During it, s0undwave- accused his colleague of using a bug. However, when viewing demos, it turned out that he himself abused the bug in some matches.
