Need to nerf AWP? What do esportsmen think about this?
Recently, there have been several opinions on the internet regarding how powerful a sniper rifle is. Some esports players believe that AWP is too powerful and creates some kind of imbalance in the game, and therefore its capabilities need to be curtailed.
Natus Vincere youth star Ilya 'm0NESY' Osipov believes that the problem can be solved by reducing the number of cartridges in the main store and the stock that will be carried around:
AWP can actually be fixed. Give him five rounds per clip and 10-15 extra. 30 is}} }} }} }} }}[alot]. You can do a lot with this weapon. With 15 rounds, you can't just shoot the smok. No, you can of course, but you will understand that you run out of cartridges and you will not have bullets. And now you just shoot, sew smokey, walls and after that you still have 30 rounds.
In a recent interview, Team Liquid player Keith 'NAF' Markovic also speculated on this topic. Unlike m0NESY, the Canadian believes that it is possible to simply raise the price to $ 6,000, which will significantly complicate the purchase of a rifle and reduce the frequency of its appearance on the professional scene:
In my opinion, CS: GO authors need to increase the cost of AWP. Let it cost about $ 6 thousand. In the end, snipers are always the best. The only rifler that can be seen on the first lines of the rating is NiKo. Then there are ZywOo, s1mple, sh1ro, El1an from Entropiq and others.
NAF explains its offerings by the increased risk of buying a sniper rifle:
It would be nice if acquiring AWP was a risky decision. As practice suggests, it can become effective. I would like the price of this sniper rifle to go up as I don’t know how much this weapon can be nerfed.
Valve sometimes listens to the opinions of professional players and change the balance of weapons in one direction or another. If the attention to AWP continues to increase, and esports players continue to talk about the need to nerf the rifle, then the CS: GO developers will indeed be able to make some changes with this weapon, which could change the matches of the professional shooter discipline scene.
