Team Empire to skip Apex Legends Global Series: 2022 Championship
Today Russian players RANCHES and cleaveee announced on social media that Team Empire will skip the Apex Legends Global Series: 2022 Championship. The reason for the withdrawal from participation in the tournament is the refusal to issue US visas.
The team got the opportunity to participate in the ALGS: 2022 Championship thanks to a successful performance at the Apex Legends Global Series 2021-22 EMEA.
This problem is related to the fact that the United States stopped issuing visas to citizens of the Russian Federation due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine on February 24, 2022. At the moment, it is not known who will replace Empire in the Major.
Team Empire's current Apex Legends roster is as follows:
- RANCHES
- cleaveee
- Maliwan
Recall that Apex Legends Global Series: 2022 Championship will be held from July 7 to 10 this year. The tournament will be held at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina. 40 teams will compete for a $2,000,000 prize pool. The winner will receive the top prize of $500,000.
