Horizon Cup 2021 to be held in Singapore
Publisher Riot Games has announced that its first international League of Legends: Wild Rift tournament will take place in Singapore. The Horizon Cup 2021 will kick off on November 13th, while the final itself will take place on November 21st. According to a press release, the matches will be held at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Center.
Specific details such as the event's prize pool, broadcast schedule and format have yet to be revealed.
As a reminder, the initial plans for an international Wild Rift tournament were first announced in May 2021, when the publisher unveiled an update to the esports ecosystem for all of its disciplines at a media event.
Since the initial announcement, Wild Rift has launched a variety of competitions in a variety of regions including Oceania, Europe and Latin America. A total of 10 teams will compete in the Horizon Cup 2021, after qualifying for the regional competition.
Currently, the names of two participants in the upcoming championship are known - Da Kun Gaming and KT Rolster, who won the Spark Invitational 2021 and Wild Rift Champions Korea 2021, respectively.
The Wild Rift Origin Series 2021: Championship is expected to conclude later this month, and the championship itself will take place offline in Stockholm.
