Global update 18.2 for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is out

Almost three weeks after the announcement of the release date, the developers from Krafton Inc have released the long-awaited patch for PUBG. There will be a variety of changes, and we will tell you about all of them today.

New map and related mechanics.

First on the list, and probably the most important, is the addition of a new ninth map called Deston in 8x8 scale, which puts it on the same line with such large maps as Erangel, Miramar and Taego.

The developers themselves describe the map as follows: “The once developed North American city was deserted and fell into disrepair due to storms and floods.” From which we can draw a conclusion about the relief and, in general, about the locations.

The new map will include different game zones: a lot of high skyscrapers and buildings, an impenetrable swamp, a hydroelectric dam, a paintball arena, wind turbines, a concert venue.

In addition, many innovations will be added that are not available on other maps.

Zhumar

Zhumar are unique devices that allow you to automatically climb the ropes located near most buildings and other relief heights. To interact, just walk up and press the desired key. There is a list of restrictions: you cannot use the jumar if another player is already on it, and being on it, it is also impossible to interact with objects on the ground.

Communication towers

Communication towers are tall structures scattered all over the map, you can climb them with the help of jumars (the climb speed will be higher than on ordinary buildings), and being at the top, you can send yourself flying in the right direction.

To interact with these mechanics, each player from the start of the match will have in their inventory a jumar module that allows them to attach to ropes, as well as a parachute. Special items will be placed in the player's inventory at the beginning of the match, occupy a separate slot, have no limit on the number of uses, and cannot be dropped.

Special rooms for drones

Small rooms are hidden in buildings all over the map, which can only be accessed with the help of a drone, by controlling which players can find various loot and items there.

Key cards and security doors

Partly an old mechanic used on Taego, its essence is to find access cards that open one or more security doors. Behind closed doors will be different high-level loot.

Gas station

An all-new mechanic that allows players to refuel vehicles with more than just gas canisters. To interact with them, you need to be at a distance of no more than 5 m from the column, and completely stop the car. An interesting feature is the destructibility of all gas stations, with subsequent damage to those who are in the radius of the explosion, which can be used if you notice rivals stopping near them.

Shotgun O12

The new weapon is available only on Deston and has three modes of fire: single, three rounds and bursts. It is effective at close and medium distances, so it can only be equipped with a collimator and a holographic sight. Cannot be equipped with an extended magazine.

airboat

The Airboat is a new unique vehicle that is only available on Deston. Able to move on all surfaces including: water, swamp, shallow water, as well as land (on it the speed will be two times lower). Accommodates five players, and besides that, it is able to bounce while moving.

In addition, the following will not be available on the new map: Rocket launcher, DP-28, Saiga-12K, G36C, QBU, QBZ, K2, sticky bomb, mortar, Lynx rifle and 15x scope.

Vehicles will spawn: pickup truck, Dacia, Coupe RB, motorcycle, motocross bike, roadster, quad bike, buggy, boat, jet ski and airboat.

Sometimes bots can appear on Deston.

Miramar

Miramar has been heavily modified, now the terrain has been made smoother, which increases ride comfort. In addition, we raised the quality of the textures on most buildings, and changed the layout of some of them.

The oasis has also undergone changes: now the water level in the center reaches the waist, and therefore it is impossible to lie down there. Also added a vehicle spawn point near the oasis, and three more spawn points along the road near Chumachair.

Vehicle spawn balance

Coupe RB will now also appear on Vikendi with Taego. On other maps, the chance of his spawn is increased. Dacia on Vikendi will now spawn more frequently due to the spawn chance being raised to 53%. Sidecar motorcycles will now spawn less frequently on Taego, as the spawn chance has been reduced to 46%.

Workshop

A new menu item has been added called the Workshop where players can interact with different skins and craft new ones. There are two options for creating: normal and special, each requires certain resources that you can buy in the store, or get through the analysis of things, as well as from chests.

Other changes

All items are assigned a certain level, which allows you to determine how rare they are.

Weapon proficiency statistics have been changed, more skill ranks have been added for different types, and in addition, rewards for reaching a certain rank have been added.

The highest rank is Master - from 600-700 weapon proficiency

Added a new BP dedicated to the release of the Deston map.
