It looks like there's a winner in the epic race to buy Codemasters. Take-Two has officially abandoned its acquisition of racing game developers.
Take-Two will now be looking for a new studio to acquire, according to a statement. Recall that earlier the parent company Rockstar offered $ 974 million for Codemasters.
The withdrawal from Take-Two means that Codemasters will soon become part of Electronic Arts. Those, in turn, will pay $ 1.2 billion, and they intend to complete the takeover process by the end of March.
As a reminder, Codemasters are known for creating racing games. They are responsible for the development of DiRT, GRiD, F1, Need for Speed: Shift and the Project CARS trilogy.
