Rumor: Sony will acquire Bluepoint
With remakes of God of War, Uncharted and Demon's Souls, Bluepoint will soon be part of Sony. This is reported by several insiders from the ResetEra portal, citing their sources. It is noted that Sony should announce the acquisition of the studio by February 28th.
From Sony's point of view, a studio purchase is just around the corner for the following reasons:
- Bluepoint impressed with its work ethic.
- The studio creates groundbreaking remakes.
- Bluepoint has a good relationship with Sony Japan Studios, with whom she worked together on both Shadow of the Colossus and Demon's Souls.
- The experience, skills and technology that Bluepoint uses to develop remakes can be used for future projects.
According to insiders, many sources are reporting an upcoming deal, so the announcement should take place in the near future. Late last year, rumors of a Metal Gear Solid remake appeared online. It is assumed that the project was entrusted to the Bluepoint studio. After joining Sony, the company is expected to continue with re-releases, but the team also plans to have a brand new game.
