Cyberpunk 2077 Helps Steam Set New Record For The Most Simultaneously Downloaded Data Per Second
On December 7, CD Project RED gave the green light to the start of preloading the game on Steam and users were able to set a record for simultaneous downloads of data. That day, the figure exceeded the threshold of 23.5 TB of data per second. The previous record was held by the game PUBG, which crossed the threshold of 22 TB per second on release.
A similar jump in downloadable data took place during the release of GTA V, but then users were able to reach the figure of only 3 TB per second.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set to be released on December 10th. The game will be released at different times in different countries, while the release of the console versions will take place at midnight. The new title from CD Project RED will not bypass the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S and will be available on the next generation consoles under the backward compatibility system.
The press has already appreciated the game and Cyberpunk 2077 as a result received 91 points out of 100 possible.
