PlayStation is the most profitable branch for Sony
The New York Times published an article describing the results of research conducted on the Sony PlayStation and a brief history of the game console. It is timed to coincide with today's release of the Japanese console.
According to them, God of War is one of the best-selling series released exclusively for the PlayStation. Games about Kratos overthrowing the gods of Olim and fighting the gods of Norse mythology have sold over 51,000,000 copies. Ghost of Tsushima, which made a splash this summer, in turn helped over 5,000,000 gamers visit the Japanese island of Tsushima.
One of the interesting things about their material is that PlayStation game consoles bring their creators more profit than any other offshoot of the Japanese tech giant. The main feature and strategy of Sony was the release of exclusive games. Titles were not released very often, but it paid off for the incredible quality of products for Sony consoles. The games have repeatedly received many awards, and the corporation is planning its march according to the "Sell good AAA games for full price" scheme. Their competitors at Microsoft follow a different principle. Rivals from the green camp are engaging their customers with a subscription system and massive distribution of games to Xbox Game Pass owners.
